August 2024 Florida USA  Hold a seminar Tetsu Sato

From August 16th to 24th, together with Rie Goto and Taiju Saito from the South Ehime Fisheries Research Center, visited Mote Marine Laboratory & Aquarium, which has an excellent track record as a resident research institute. We had a discussion with President & CEO Dr. Michael Crosby and researchers from a variety of fields about the possibility of future collaboration in Sato-umi nature restoration and monitoring. We held a seminar to introduce the results of the project, which opened up the possibility of future multifaceted collaboration.

July 2024 Indonesia Hold a seminar & symposium Tetsu Sato・Motoko Shimagami・Yasuko Kusakari・John Matewere

From July 17th to 31st, 2024, Tetsu Sato, Motoko Shimagami visited Indonesia. Yasuko Kusakari and John Matewere visited Indonesia as third country training programs.
Conducted field survey to Malasari Village, Jeneberang, and Polewali, and reported the project results to local innovators in each area. International Symposium on Transdisciplinary Research at Hasanuddin University was attended by more than 200 participants and included results presentations and dialogue. The exchange and mutual learning between Malawian and Indonesian innovators was a great success.

 

February 2024 Seminar presentation Tetsu Sato

From February 6th to 13th, Tetsu Sato had a seminar presentation at the ISF Roundtable Seminar at the University of Technology Sydney, Australia. Had an in-depth discussion with ISF researchers with a wealth of experience in the TD research on sustainable agriculture currently being conducted in Malawi, and looked into the possibility of future collaborative research.

November 25th, 2023 Held a seminar Hiromu Okazawa・Tetsu Sato

“Collaborative research by graduate students through the Long-term Research Program on the IntNRMS project” was held at Tokyo University of Agriculture. Invitees from Malawi also participated, and research presentations were given by graduate students who came to Japan for short-term and long-term research programs. They discussed future research topics for each SATREPS project. There were 20 participants.

November 23rd, 2023 The Malawi SATREPS Project International Symposium (a hybrid of in-person and online) was held at Ehime University.

On November 23rd, 2023, an international symposium was held at Ehime University, inviting five guests, including Vice Chancellor Samson Sajidu of the University of Malawi. There were 40 participants.

July 2023 Attend the international meeting Tetsu Sato

From July 8th to 16th, 2023, Tetsu Sato participated in the Transformations Conference 2023 held at the University of Technology Sydney in Sydney, Australia. Presented the results of Malawi SATREPS and had discussions with participants.

June 2022  Attend the international meeting Tetsu Sato

From June 12th to 20th, 2022, Tetsu Sato participated in the 28th ISDRS2022 held in Stockholm, Sweden, and gave a presentation on transdisciplinary research. The presentation received a tremendous response, and he was able to discuss with researchers from Södertörn University, which advocates TD research, and visit the university, deepening his understanding of the current state of TD research in the Nordic countries and gaining valuable insights into his research in the project.
